I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!!! We have had lots of happenings since I last blogged.
Emma had her first ear infection. We started out thinking it was pink eye. But it ended up her ear was draining through her eye. She is better now. Stephen had strep throat. Then I got a serious sinus infection. Then I got a 24-hour stomach bug and, as of last night, Stephen has the 24-hour stomach bug. Lots of sickies in our house right now!!! Lysol wipes are our best friend as is lots of hand washing. Vitamins are going to be started again as well.
I really wish I would have felt better. I feel like I missed out on a great deal of Emma's first Christmas. BUT, she had a wonderful Christmas as did the hubs and I. We are very blessed to have the family and friends we have and very, very blessed to have such a wonderful, precious daughter.
We took lots of pictures. Her favorite "toy" so far is a multicolored caterpillar. It is huge. Very cute. Her second favorite "toy" is a basekt with a few things in it so she can dump it all out and play with the empty basket (of course!).
Little stories of the life of me and my family... perfect for me

Whew!!!
It has been a while. I haven't kept up like I said I would. But, that just means there is lots to catch up on.
First, we had a crazy start to Thanksgiving this year. I got up to feed Emma around 3:30. As I was finishing up, I heard the doorbell ring and someone knocking on the door. I believe it was around 3:50. If any of you know me... you know that I am not the bravest person in the world. I ran into our bedroom and told Stephen someone was knocking on the door. He was confused at first but then it hit him. So he got his gun, why wouldn't he, and went downstairs and answered the door. I was standing at the top of the stairs trying to hear what this person was saying. I heard him say that he had a wreck down the road and he needed to use our phone. Of course, I am doubting that really happened and was waiting for him to push through the door but that didn't happen. I heard him say something about running from the police so at that point I called 911. They sent someone and when the guy saw them he took off. Turns out, he was the driver of a car that wrecked down the road and killed the front seat passenger and sent the other two passengers to the hospital. The thing that bothers me the most is 911 never called back, they actually hung up on me, and the police never came back to the house. Never even came to the door. Once this man ran off when the police pulled up, they just backed up and left. The man turned himself in about a week later. Very scary at the time.
Other than that little event, our Thanksgiving was great. I wasn't planning on going Black Friday shopping but looking through the ads we found a wonderful deal on the front load washer and drying we had been wanting. So, I stood in line at 3:00 at HHGregg to get them. I LOVE them. I have been caught up on laundry ever since.
We took Emma to get pictures taken. They turned out great. She smiled and smiled.
Now we are just counting down the days until Christmas. We are definitely in the spirit. We have several get togethers to attend. We have Garth Brooks coming up. We have the big GSP vs Koscheck fight this weekend. My birthday is the 20th. So much to look forward to during this time of the year.
Next stop... taking Emma to see Santa for the first time. I hope she doesn't cry but if she is anything like I was, she will have tears just a flowing.

And so it begins...
I just got back from Kroger. It was as busy as I expected it to be but not crowded enough that I couldn't get through the aisles. I got everything I need (I hope). As I was checking out, I had a good feeling - probably more just wanting to get one because I haven't gotten one in a while - about getting a scratch off lottery ticket and, luckily, I also had $3 in cash. We went over to the vending machine (I love those things) and got a $1 and $2 ticket. AND.... I won $2 on the first one and $20 on the second one. $19 profit works for me :)
So while my precious baby is sleeping I am going to make my way to the kitchen and start baking. I am going to make some cheesecakes and some pumpkin pies. Tomorrow all I have to make is scalloped corn. Yummy!
BTW... my precious baby... you know the one from the paragraph above... broke the left shift button off of our laptop last night... luckily I was able to fix it today... after I wrote most of this very slowly as I always use the left instead of the right. Such things will happen... she is still precious to me.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FRIENDS.

New to this..
I have always wanted to start a blog, but I didn't think I had anything interesting or important to say. I hope that some people find my stories interesting. I suppose they will mostly be about my baby and my life as most other blogs I follow are.
I will start off by saying Thanksgiving is in two days. It starts what is my favorite part of the year. Family is important and I am excited to see Emma on her first big holidays. We will start at my great-grandmother's house at 12:00 on Thursday and then go to my sister-in-law's house at 4:00. We always have more than one place to go so we are very blessed to have tons of family to spend this holiday with.
Black Friday this year will not be spent shopping for us. Stephen has to work. We will shop a different day... but I am perfectly okay with this. Last year wore me out though I was also pregnant and sleepy ALL the time. Speaking of that...
My life has changed dramatically in a year. I wouldn't change it... I love it. I can't imagine life without Emma and I am sure everyone who has met her feels the same way. She is smart and funny even though it takes a lot to make her smile. She definitely likes to observe and take in everything she can. Loves to sleep but doesn't like to go to sleep... if that makes sense. She won't take a pacifier, even though some days I wish she wanted to. She is growing so fast though she is still a small baby. She loves dogs... all animals for that matter. She gives hugs and snuggles. In general... there are just no words. Love is defined.
